*Arizona is ranked ahead of Butler in the true seed list, but Butler is pushed up to the last #5 seed and Arizona is pushed down the first #6 seed, as the presence of a Big East team (Seton Hall, Creighton, Villanova, Marquette) in each of the four 6/11/3/14 pods makes it impossible for Butler to be on the #6 line.

**On the #7 line, BYU can only play in the Tampa pod, and Houston cannot play in the South region, as Houston is the host. This means a Big Ten team (Iowa or Wisconsin) must be in the same pod as Maryland. Although this would usually break the rules, Wisconsin is actually allowed to be in the same pod as Maryland, as the two have only met once so far this season. This is preferred to moving around seed lines.
